You can either scan the photograph at home and email/upload the file to us, or if you are local to Devon, we can discuss options for creating a high-resolution digital copy for you.

Yes, absolutely! We offer professional digital colourisation services. We meticulously research the era and hand-paint the digital layers to ensure skin tones, clothing fabrics, and backgrounds look natural, vibrant, and historically accurate—rather than looking obviously artificial.

For the best possible results, we recommend using a flatbed scanner rather than taking a photo of the picture with your smartphone. Set your scanner to a minimum of 300 DPI (600 DPI is even better for small or highly detailed photos). Save the file as a JPEG or TIFF at the highest quality setting. Ensure the scanner glass is completely clean and free of dust before scanning.

Our advanced digital editing techniques can repair a wide variety of damage, including: Fading, discolouration, and severe yellowing. Scratches, cracks, tears, and surface creases. Water damage, stains, and mould spots. Pieces of the image that are completely missing (we can artistically reconstruct backgrounds, clothing, and facial features).

Not at all. Because the entire restoration process takes place digitally on our computers, your original physical photograph remains exactly as it is.

Once the restoration is complete, we will send you a high-resolution, gallery-ready digital file via a secure download link. You can save this file forever, share it easily with family members across the world, and print it as many times as you like. If you require physical, high-quality archival prints of the restored piece, please let us know and we can discuss print options.
